Northshore Wranglers Get Boost From Teen's Business Project

Proceeds from Isaiah Caplan's work will go to a scholarship program.

Isaiah Caplan could have a future in the nonprofit business. The 15-year-old recently finished a school business development project that benefited the Northshore Wranglers Special Recreation Program.

The Northshore Wranglers group was begun in 1998 in Woodinville and is now an independent nonprofit with the Northshore Health & Wellness Center in Bothell, under the umbrella of the Northshore Senior Center. It serves people with intellectual, cognitive and developmental disabilities.

While other classmates at Path Co-op School formed mock for-profit companies for their projects, Isaiah formed a mock nonprofit to sell concessions to raise money for the Wranglers, according to Wranglers coach and coordinator Cole Caplan, who is also Isaiah’s uncle.

The Orting teen raised more than $220 in the project, which will go to the Wranglers scholarship program to provide access for less privileged families.
