Retired Astronaut Bonnie Dunbar to Speak at Northshore Luncheon

Dunbar is the keynote speaker at the Northshore Schools Foundation annual fundraiser luncheon in April.

 

Retired NASA astronaut Dr. Bonnie J. Dunbar is the keynote speaker at this year’s Light a Fire for Learning fundraiser luncheon for the Northshore Schools Foundation, April 26 at the Lynwood Convention Center.

Dunbar, an eastern Washington native, retired from NASA in 2005 after serving in five space flights. She then served as president and CEO of the Museum of Flight, she is now is corporate Director of Higher Education and STEM for Boeing Corporation.

Proceeds for the lunch support the foundations programs which include purchasing books for classroom libraries, supporting science, technology and math programs and music and art enrichment programs. The goal this year is to raise $100,000, according to Carmin Dalziel, Executive Director of the foundation.

Along with Dr. Dunbar’s presentation the Luncheon will feature Northshore student presentations and entertainment. The Lynnwood Convention Center is located at 3711 196th Street S.W., Lynnwood.
