Woodinville Football Honors Military

This is the first time the group has organized a 'Salute to Military Night' during one of its football games.

Friday's Woodinville vs. Newport matchup is about more than football.

It will be the first-ever 'Salute to Military' night. The Woodinville High School Gridiron Club will raise money for 'Operation Homefront,' the number one charity that raises money for military members when they get back from their tours, according to a story on KOMO News.

Gridiron Club members thought of the idea because the game falls during the Sept. 11 week, the story said.Β
