Friday's Woodinville vs. Newport matchup is about more than football.
It will be the first-ever 'Salute to Military' night. The Woodinville High School Gridiron Club will raise money for 'Operation Homefront,' the number one charity that raises money for military members when they get back from their tours, according to a story on KOMO News.
Gridiron Club members thought of the idea because the game falls during the Sept. 11 week, the story said.
The crowd is encouraged to wear camouflage attire and veterans and service members are encouraged to wear their uniforms.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Pop Keeney Stadium in Bothell.
This is the first home game for the Falcons, who are 2-0 on the season.
