Vote for Northshore Ninth Grader's Doodle 4 Google Artwork

Samantha Carey was is a finalist in the national Google contest, vote now!

 

Samantha (Sam) Carey, Northshore Junior High ninth grader, is one of 50 state finalists and one of 10 in her age group selected for the Doodle 4 Google contest.  Under the theme of “If I could travel in time, I’d visit…”.  Sam submitted a drawing titled “Tick Tock Oil the Clock” with a descriptor of: “Time has allowed everything to become what it is for better and worse and nobody can change that but there is 86,400 seconds in a day each has possibilities tick tock.”

The U.S. public will vote for their favorite doodle from the 50 State Winners. Online voting will take place from May 2,  6 a.m. Pacific Time to May 10,  5 p.m. Pacific Time. The highest ranking doodler from each grade group will be named as a National Finalist. Google will announce the five National Finalists (one per grade group), at an awards ceremony held in New York City on May 17. All state winners’ doodles displayed in a special exhibit at the New York Public Library.

Go online to www.doodle4google.com and vote for Samantha's design. The national winner will receive a $30,000 college scholarship, a computer, a digital design tablet and a $50,000 technology grant for their school.

Samantha and her family will be flown to New York City for the announcement of the national winner. The winning doodle will be announced on May 17 and featured on the Google.com homepage on May 18.
