WHS Boys Swim and Dive Competes at State Championship This Weekend
Woodinville High School's Boys Swim Team placed third overall 4A Sea King District, up from ninth place last year.
The Woodinville High School Boys Swim and Dive team is competing this weeked at the WIAA State Championship meet in Federal Way.
The team placed third at the SeaKing District meet last week, the highest they have ever scored in many years, according to Sue Lazear, a team parent. “There are two boys, Max Emerick and Robert Ingrum, who are competing in individual events and have two relay teams competing in the 200 free and 400 free relays,” Lazear wrote Patch.

Two divers, Drew Carlson-Rothe and Sasha Krumm, are competing in the diving events. This is Drew's fourth year of competing at the State level, according to Lazear. “Even more impressive, these boys (the team has 27 members) get up at 4:30 every morning to practice at the Redmond Pool before school due to the lack of pools in our neighborhoods,” Lazear said.
