Free Bicycle Maintenance Class

As part of Transition Woodinville's summer re-skilling classes we are offering a free Introduction to Bicycle Maintenance class to be held at the Woodinville Library meeting room, Tuesday, June 14, 2011, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  Beginning with a brief overview of bicycling's humble beginnings in the Puget sound region through its renaissance after the first oil shocks of the 70s and the future of bicycling in a post-carbon world, this 2 hour course will cover basic bicycle maintenance tasks that the new or experienced bicycle commuter will likely encounter.  We will cover flat repair, the chain, gears, and basic concepts of wheel truing. The course will feature both a lecture portion and interactive time to try out your newly acquired skills on instructor-supplied materials.  Signup either through our member website, transitionwoodinville.ning.com, or by email at transitionwoodinville@gmail.com.
