"We had a really, really good week of practice this week, really focused on the details and we came out and did that tonight," Arrivey said.

The route started quick for Woodinville, which put up 28 points in the first quarter alone. Redmond fumbled on the first play of the game and two plays later, Arrivey hit Beau Vintertun with a 13-yard touchdown pass.

"The two turnovers in the first quarter were the ball game," Redmond head coach Jeff Chandler said. "We had a hard time recovering from that."

Redmond put together a nice drive on its next possession, but missed on a field goal attempt that would turn out to its best scoring opportunity of the first half.

After a Devin McKee 1-yard touchdown run, Redmond was forced to punt and Woodinville quickly scored again. Arrivey threw his second touchdown on the drives third play, this one a 74-yard strike to Alek Kacmarcik to make it 21-0. Arrivey finished 12 for 14 with 216 yards and three scores in his one half of work.

"It makes it easy on me when all I've got to do is get it to them and they do all the rest for me," Arrivey said.

Redmond turned the ball over again on its next possession to start a trend that would run through the rest of the half. The Mustangs four turnovers in the first half led to 28 Woodinville points, including 14 as a direct result of turnovers. Caleb Hamilton returned a fumble 41 yards in the first quarter to make it 28-0 and Vintertun returned a second quarter interception 31 yards to make it 48-0.

"Our defense has played real, real well ever since summer camp over at Eastern," Arrivey said. "I don't think we got scored on all of camp and they brought it over into the season."

Alec Schwend also scored two touchdowns in the first half on runs of 22 and 2 yards. Schwend finished with 81 yards on seven carries and also had a 57-yard reception in the first quarter.

Woodinville pulled all its starters at halftime with the lead at 55-0. Redmond scored late in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard sneak by Brady Henderson.

The blowout was the third in a row to start the season for the Falcons. After back-to-back 4-5 seasons, Woodinville promised to be more competitive in 2011 and seems to be living up to its promise, having outscored its three opponents by a combined score of 121-17.

"You look out there and there's not one guy dominating and controlling the game," Woodinville head coach Wayne Maxwell said. "Guys are stepping up everywhere and making plays."
