Woodinville Teens Win Gold at National Rowing Competition

Two Woodinville teens won a gold medal at the 2013 Rowing Club Nationals in Camden, New Jersey, on July 14.

Capping off a five-day regatta, Aidan Cowles and Sam Halbert (who will be sophomores this fall at Woodinville High School), along with boatmates Elijah Maesner, Josh Warnick and their coxswain, won gold in the Junior B (16 and under) 4+ boat.

The rowers won gold by 5 seconds over the second place boat and reportedly broke the national record.

They train and row for Sammamish Rowing Association on Lake Sammamish.
