Cottage Lake 2012 Summer Concert Lineup

Despite losing its county funding, the Upper Bear Creek Community Council is bringing summer concerts to Woodinville.

 

announced the schedule for the 2012 Music in the Park summer concerts at . The Thursday night family concerts begin at 7 p.m. July 12 through Aug. 18.

July 12: Eastside Modern Jazz Orchestra 

The orchestra is an offshoot of the Woodinville Community Band. This ensemble plays an exciting mix of Funk, Latin, Jazz-Rock Fusion, and Contemporary Jazz, all expressed with the unique power that comes from a big band.  When you attend an EMJO concert, you can expect to hear a wide variety of high energy jazz music.

July 19: 85th Street Big Band

The 20-piece big band plays dance music featuring swing favorites from the 30s, 40s, and 50s, including tunes made famous by Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and Nat King Cole. Band members hail from Seattle, Lake Forest Park, Renton, and farther afield.

July 26: Kafana Republik

Kafana Republik faithfully recreates the music of Eastern Europe from Macedonia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia. The band has performed at the Folklife Festival.

Aug. 2: Curb Appeal

The Seattle-based band plays classic rock covers from the 60s to today.

Aug. 9: Not Easily Broken

This bluegrass band is a Woodinville-grown family group that was a big hit last year.

Aug. 16: Night & Day

A trio of Barbara Liggett on piano and vocals, Julio Palomino on percussion, vocals and keyboards, and Karen Sample on flute, vocals and percussion. The group plays the great dance tunes from the 1920s to the ‘50s.

The free concert starts at 7 p.m. at , 18831 NE Woodinville-Duvall Road.
