Musings From A Woodinville Dad

What it's like raising a son for a happily married dad in Woodinville.

Hello there intrepid reader! I'm a new blogger to Patch so I thought I'd dedicate this first post as an introduction to myself and what I hope to do here on Patch.

So let's get the trivialities out of the way. I'm a 35 year old customer service/technical support manager for a company in Redmond, WA. My wife (librarian for UW Bothell) and I have been living in the Cottage Lake area of Woodinville for about 5 years. Our 1 1/2 year old son Jack, our 4 year old bullmastiff Manny, and our 15 year old cat Bina, live with us too. I'm a nerdy/geeky type that's into comic books, scifi/fantasy, computers, gadgets, etc.

I'm going to mostly be writing about what it's like to be a dad in Woodinville. I see lots and lots of blogs from mom's out there, but rarely anything from a dad's point of view. If I do see stuff from a dad it's generally from a single/newly divorced dad.  Both of those points of view are great and very useful, but as a happily married dad, I'm just not going through the same things as a mom or a single dad.

I hope to present an accurate picture of what it's like raising a son from a happily married dad's point of view and all the trials and tribulations that surround it. I'm a VERY open person (if you do a internet search on me you'll see all my social network stuff is wide open) and I hope you will join me as I learn and explore what it's like to be a dad (don't be too harsh on me in the family photo, not my best shot, but the wife and kid look good!).
