More New Bloggers on Patch!

Meet three bloggers 21 Acres and Ronald Long, cyclist, swimmer and Ironman (well, half Ironman).

is Woodinville’s local center promoting sustainable farming and living. When its new green building opens later this summer, it will be one of Western Washington’s most cutting-edge green facilities, with enclosed market facilities, a commercial kitchen, classrooms and meeting space. The design boasts a “living roof,” underground food storage, solar power and innovative water systems. In addition, 21 Acres has 18 acres in food production as well as community gardens. Plans are also underway for a food co-op were people will be able to buy food locally grown. Three of 21 Acres staff are now blogging on Patch.

Rosy Smit, born and raised on a dairy farm, is a farm girl through and through. As Farm Manager, Smit brings not only agricultural expertise but environmental and educational experience to 21 Acres.

Heidi Pomeroy is passionate about whole foods, cooking and taking care of her kids (pygmy goats that is!) Pomeroy is 21 Acres Co-Op Development Manager and is connecting farmers and producers to the community.

Brenda Vanderloop has lived and worked in the Woodinville area since the late 80’s. As  Public Relations and Communication Consultant to 21 Acres, she connects and builds strong relationships for 21 Acres, the environmental and agricultural issues they value, and the community. You can read her blogposts here.

Ronald Long has lived in the Cottage Lake area since 1989. He describes himself as a “fairly avid local cyclist, runner/triathlete, a not-quite rabid liberal, environmentalist, very interested in spirituality (though I'm not sure that I would write about that).” He is a member of TeamFastt (the local triathlon team), a software engineer, an amateur musician, and has been playing East European Folk music for the last 30 years and he’s a woodworker. Seeing Woodinville at the speed of a cyclist and runner, Ronald has a view of the community slightly different than people cruising through at car speeds (he said he recently saw three bunnies on his ride home from work). You can read his blogposts here.
