David Chi

Northwestern University

Assistant Special Events Director on Northwestern University’s Dance Marathon Team

Dance Marathon is David school’s largest philanthropy of the year, raising a record-high $1.1 million this year for the Andrew B+ (Be Positive) McDonough Foundation which will fund research to combat childhood cancer. Befriending kids from the Foundation and getting to know them opened David’s eyes to the importance of philanthropy: to see the direct impact our help can make in their lives.

Austin Remington

University of Pennsylvania

Volunteer Teacher with Penn Science Across Ages

By exercising dedication and leadership, Austin has made an impact on an elementary school in West Philadelphia by helping to include science in their curriculum. Teaching elementary students is admittedly difficult; yet, Austin has found the time investment to be especially rewarding. He feels proud knowing that he may have affected the student’s academic career.
