My concern is that you are going to add another 1000+ (800 residential units) cars on the road inRead More downtown Woodinville?! And please don be naive to think that all those people will work and walk to their jobs in downtown Woodinville. Has this issue been addressed? Sorry I didn't read the 70 page proposal yet.

The majority of Woodinville council members voted to have the Planning Commission keep UGBRead More adjustments alive. Development of the Sammamish Valley is going to happen at some point no matter what, and as a matter of fact, development has been going on slowly without control for years. King County allows the expansion of home based businesses without providing for additional traffic or police services that would be required by Woodinville as part of the development process. You complain about John Corrado, but he tried in vein to stop the unbridled and illegal expansion of businesses in the valley. King County officials talk the talk, but they don't walk the walk. Destruction of the valley in the unincorporated areas is allowed to continue, but when Woodinville steps up to take over where King County has failed to protect the valley, people like Kathy Lambert turned her back on development standards and acted as though she was the protector of the valley. Give me a break, Susan and Kathy. Allowing King County to control the valley is not working. Woodinville might as well cash in on commercialization. At least we will benefit from the sales taxes, and the valley is doomed anyhow.

That's a really good point, Ron. Here's the sequence: May 9, 2010: At the King County CouncilRead More meeting, Lucy DeYoung’s real estate broker, John Corrado, explained that Woodinville has a "dire need" for more commercial land, and therefore needed UGB amendments. September 26th, 2011: Lucy DeYoung emphasized the importance of transition, as you quote. December 11, 2012: All three councilmembers who receive campaign donations from Lucy DeYoung and her associates -- Hageman, Aspen, and Rubstello -- plus Paulette Bauman, voted in favor of changing all residential and office zoned land at the southeast corner of Woodinville's downtown into Central Business District. This vote *eliminated* the transition between Woodinville's Central Business District and the agricultural land of the Sammamish Valley. http://www.ci.woodinville.wa.us/Documents/CityHall/Ordinances/Ordinance%20539.pdf
