Her work with the American Red Cross National Headquarters Hurricane Katrina Recovery Project in Washington, D.C. fostered an interest in investigative writing which led to the beginning of her journalism career at a blog where she wrote about domestic and international social activism issues. While continuing to write for the blog, Leah began work as a stringer with The Oyster Bay Guardian newspaper in her hometown of Oyster Bay, NY and for multiple Patch sites throughout Long Island. She is honored to be the editor of Northport Patch and work with the community to become the number one source for information on all things Northport, East Northport, Fort Salonga, Asharoken, and Eatons Neck.
