21 Acres: Master Home-Made Pasta and Sauces

Fresh Thinking: Cooking seasonally with sustainable ingredients sourced from local farms. The Master Home-Made Pasta and Sauces class is offered as part of the 21 Acres School.

Making your own pasta is easy and very satisfying and under the guidance of chef Dina Phelps success is assured. We will make traditional pasta dough and a wholegrain dough; learn how to flavor the doughs and cut them into different pasta styles. Techniques include rolling the dough by hand and using a hand-cranked pasta machine. Mix and match with fresh-flavored sauces for satisfying suppers. Class fee is $69, discounted rate is $59 for 21 Acres members.

  • Fresh fettucine with asparagus and hazelnut pesto
  • Bittersweet chocolate pappardelle with mushroom ragout
  • Angel hair pasta with pea sprouts and shaved cheese
  • Rustic noodles with stir-fried spinach, sesame and ginger

Instructor, Dina Phelps, graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle with a culinary degree in both savories and pastry. She has cooked professionally for 11 years and works as a food consultant, a private chef and a chef instructor. She is passionate food that’s simple, flavorful and accessible.
