Sustainability in the Classroom: Systems Thinking in the Classroom

This class is part of the Sustainability in the Classroom series.

Attention teachers! This four-class session is designed for educators who are interested in adapting their instruction to sustainability principles and in learning how food and the systems that bring food to our tables fit within the broader K-12 picture. The instructors for the course will help you discover how systems thinking, environmental understanding, economic awareness, and community involvement can be used as teaching tools. You will also learn about environmental and sustainability education mandates in Washington State and examine these
standards in the context of relevant and experiential activities.

Other classes in this series include Approaches to an Edible Schoolyard, Understanding Urban Food Systems, and Assessment of Learning for Sustainability.

The fee is $100.00 for the entire four-course series and $30.00 for each individual classes. Registration for individual classes is open on a space available basis. Farm
snacks included.

Clock-hours and 1 quarter credit will be available.
